Training in Phylogenetics of microorganisms

Its educational program is designed for professionals in virology, genetics, epidemiology, and infectious diseases who are involved in epidemic surveillance of viral and bacterial infections. Basic bioinformatics skills are required for participation.

Curriculum Highlights: phylogenetic analysis of viral and bacterial pathogen genomes, including:

• Multiple sequence alignment
• Phylogenetic tree construction and visualization
• Methods for assessing evolutionary relationships between viruses
• Interpretation of analytical results

Hands-on training with major genetic sequence databases (GISAID and GenBank). Data submission in accordance with current international standards

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will acquire practical skills for depositing and presenting their own genomic data using globally recognized platforms.
