Brief Description
The Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) Fellowship was established in 2013 to develop PHEM capacities among international public health community members. The fellowship, managed by the Global Emergency Management Capacity Development (GEMCD) team, offers standardized PHEM training, mentorship, and technical assistance. The training program is held at CDC headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.
TYPE OF ASSISTANCE:
The intended audience are international mid-level public health professionals responsible for emergency management in their countries. Fellows receive specialized training in public health emergency management functions and operations, participate in site visits, engage in public health exercises and responses, and meet US federal, state, and local emergency management specialists.
SPECIFIC COUNTRIES OF INTEREST OR OTHER RELEVANT CRITERIA FOR ASSISTANCE:
The Public Health Emergency Management Fellowship is designed to strengthen public health emergency management capacity and develop a community of practice among participants in countries that have signed on to the International Health Regulations (2005).
